Q: Is it possible to have - and pay - for just one week of Cobra coverage? Or is there a minimum period I have to pay for?

A:  Usually you make your COBRA payments monthly and the minimum amount of coverage available is for 30 days.  However, you should ask your previous employer if their plan will allow you to pay for just one week of COBRA coverage.  If your COBRA rates are too high and you do not want to have a lapse in coverage Click Here for more information about an Alternative to COBRA plan.
