Q: I currently have Cobra as my job was eliminated at my past employer- I am in the process of moving but have been offered a temporary position. This employer offers health coverage immediately/ not having to pay monthly for Cobra would be helpful, but can I pick it up again at the end of this job should I need interim insurance until I secure insurance at my new location, or do I lose it permanently?

A: An employee become eligible for COBRA every time a qualifying event occurs that causes him/her to lose their group benefits from an employer that has more than 20 employees.
