Q:  My husband is in the army and will be leaving in October. I am pregnant and Due in December. His insurance at his new job will not have kicked in yet. Do I qualify for cobra?

A:  No. COBRA is a federal law that applies to business with 20 or more employees. If your husband is a federal employee, the government will offer him a similar continuation law. He should contact his personnel office of the army to find out more information on extending his insurance. You can also call 1-800-321-1080.
