Q:  I recently accepted COBRA at the 102% rate. Now I see there is going to be a federal subsidy of 65% for individuals whose incomes are less than $125,000 per year, such as myself. Will this subsidy be applied automatically to my statement? Do I need to request the subsidy? Does it matter that I have already accepted COBRA at the 102% rate? Thank you.

A:  We are COBRAinsurance.com, we offer more affordable COBRA alternative plans.  We have no connection to the Federal Government.  If you are looking for information on the stimulus package and how it will affect your COBRA coverage, you should contact the Federal Department of Labor, they regulate the COBRA law.

A lot of people I talk to are interested in a more affordable option to COBRA, click here for more information.
