Q:  I was laid off/terminated and my former employer has instructed me to sign a Request for continuation of medical and dental insurance.  They will notify Blue Cross after that I am supposed to send my payment straight to Blue Cross. Is this correct and will Blue Cross know to only expect 35% of the premium from me?

A:  Your best option would be to contact your insurance provider for further details.  If you are looking for information on the stimulus package and how it will affect your COBRA coverage, you should contact the Federal Department of Labor, they regulate the COBRA law.  The department of labor’s phone number is 866-444-3272 or visit their website at www.dol.gov
