Q:  I was laid off Nov 2008 and didn’t take insurance because I couldn’t afford it. I heard recently that Pres. Obama passed a bill that Employers had to pay 75%---if this is true , can i still get insurance (single) and what is the monthly rate?

A:  To find out if you are eligible still for COBRA you have to contact the HR of your past employer.  Regarding the Stimulus package contact the Federal Department of Labor, they regulate the COBRA law.  The department of labor’s phone number is 866-444-3272 or visit their website at www.dol.gov
