Q:  Paid spouse's premiums for 2 months. Found out at the end of the 2nd month spouse qualified to receive Medicare insurance coverage. Discontinued spouse premiums and continued to pay employee's premiums. Employee's premiums continued to be paid on time. Each check had a stub attached indicating who the premium was sent for. The first 2 months indicated on the stub employee and spouse name and info. The rest of the checks indicated employee name and info. Employee was told no longer eligible for COBRA coverage. Why since the employee has paid all premiums?

A:  The HR dept or benefits manager from your spouse’s previous employer is whom you need to speak with.  They are the one that handles your insurance policy; they would best be suited to let you know what is going on.
