Q:  Can Cobra coverage be continued if the company goes out of business before the maximum coverage period has expired?

A:  If you are on Cobra through a previous employer and the business goes out of business and the group health plan is cancelled, unfortunately you will no longer be eligible for Cobra coverage.  Due to the fact that there is no longer a group health plan, there is no longer a plan for you to continue on.  I would recommend contacting your insurance provider to see if you can move onto your own individual plan or find some sort of short term plan CLICK HERE  until you find a new job that offers group benefits.
