Q:I HAVE COBRA THROUGH MY RECENT EMPLOYER, AND I ALSO HAVE MY HUSBAND ON IT . IT INCLUDES VISION DENTAL AND PRESCRIPTION DRUG COVERAGE, MY QUESTION IS I HAVE ENROLLED ALREADY FOR COBRA FOR THE TWO OF US FOR THE COMING YEAR, CAN I CANCEL IT ON MY HUSBAND AND GET A CHEAPER POLICY SOME WHERE ELSE? OR SINCE HE IS ALREADY ENROLLED FOR THE COMING YEAR, DO I HAVE TO KEEP IT ON HIM?
A:If you wish to take your husband off of your Cobra coverage you would need to speak with your previous employer whom you have the Cobra coverage through and let them know the changes. They would be able to let you know what your premiums would change to and be able to take care of removing him from the policy.Be sure though to find insurance for him from someone else on an individual basis so that he is not let uninsured.
