Q:  I have had Type 1 Diabetes since June 1964 Does Cobra cover insulin, test strips for blood sugar, and prescriptions for my hypertension?

A:  COBRA is a federal law that allows employees termed from employment (gross misconduct being the exception) to continue the same group coverage that they had while employed. If insulin, test strips and prescriptions were covered while employed and on they group plan, then they would be covered through the COBRA continuation plan.
