Q:  What kind of insurance can I receive if I'm forced to retire at the age of 59 with a pre-condition? I thought I could stay on long term disability till I was 65 and now the employer says I can't.

A:  If you had insurance through your previous company, you may be able to apply for Cobra.  This is the same coverage you had when you were working.  I would recommend talking with your previous employer to see if they can supply you with the information about how to apply for that coverage.  If you feel that your employer is not meeting your rights, you can also view the Department of Labors website, www.dol.gov they are the ones who oversee the Cobra law.
