Q: What exactly constitutes a preexisting condition? If problems are controlled by a medication, and are not life threatening, does this still make insurance more difficult to get? I have asthma, allergies, and IBS, the medication keeps all of these under control, and all I really need is help paying for the medications.
A: These conditions are still going to be looked at as a pre-existing condition. Anything you have been treated for in the past or are taking medications for. A pre-existing condition would make you be rated differently by individual insurance carriers.
