Q:  What is the difference between " Voluntary or Involuntary termination" versus " Tendering registration". My husband is with a company that is laying off and he may have a job lined up and may resign, will he be able to have cobra?

A:  Cobra is a federal law that allows you to continue your health insurance after you have left a job.  As long as there is 20 or more employees and there is still a group health plan in force Cobra should be an option to you.  As far as if you are subject to the subsidy the reduction in the Cobra cost, if you voluntarily leave the job you are not eligible for the reduction.  It does not matter how you leave your job to be eligible for Cobra.
