Q:  My ex-husband told me the cobra was taken care of for me and I would be getting a bill. It turned out he didn't take care of it and more than 60 days elapsed. They had terminated my coverage. I got no notice whatsoever. Now I have no insurance! Do I have any recourse?

A:  You need to speak with your husband’s employer; they are who should have supplied you with a Cobra packet.  You need to call them and speak with the HR department as to why you never received a Cobra packet.

If they say you are not eligible and you feel that you are not having your rights met you can contact the Department of Labor at 866-444-3272 or visit their website at www.dol.gov/COBRA
