Q:  My past employer is changing health plans. If the same level of benefits I had is available under their new plan; are they required to offer and pay their portion of that level? i.e. there are other options w/lower benefit levels.

A:  I am unsure if they are required to pay a percentage, if you have the stimulus subject to your coverage, it should also still apply with your new coverage.  You can go to www.dol.gov/COBRA to find out if you can find more information.  But they should have to allow you to continue on the new plan through Cobra, but I am unsure as to if you can or cannot keep the reduction.  I would assume you can, but I would ask your Cobra administrator or visit the website I gave.
