Q:I am currently unemployed and have my health & dental coverage I had while employed with this company, I picked up cobra and kept the same coverage I had on the job. My 18 months is going to expire next month. With all this stimulus programs going on I wanted to know if by any chance the cobra coverage (18 months max) has been extended beyond that length. Just can't find work in my field where I reside.
A:To my understanding I don’t believe you can extend your Cobra once you have used it for its duration. You can always try to speak with your past employer whom you have your Cobra through but I don’t believe you can.
