Q:  I was laid off nearly a month ago. My company offered me Cobra information and I submitted that over a week ago. I did not submit a payment, as I thought I would receive information regarding that after I sent in my initial elections. I have yet to hear back on if I was accepted and/or when my coverage will begin and when my first payment is due. Please advice.

A:  If you have already turned in your Cobra paperwork and need to verify your benefits you need to contact your Cobra administrator.  The 3rd party person handling your benefits it should say on some of the paperwork you have, if you are unsure who that is I would call your past employer and ask them who is handling your Cobra benefits is, who your Cobra administrator is and you can call them directly in regards to your benefits.
