Q:  My previous employer told me a Cobra packet would be mailed to me from the corporate office in Washington DC. My current insurance is good through Sep 30, 2009. I still have not received any information. What should I do?

A:  If your Insurance is good through September 30th than that information has not been sent yet, they have 45 days from your last day of benefits to send that packet to you.  When you receive that packet it will go retro active to your last day of benefits which in your case is the 30th so you will have had no lapse in coverage.
