Q:  Received letter from employer stating current health insurance will be terminated on 11/30/09 and due to the size of the company they are not "allowed" to offer Cobra Coverage to former employees because of Federal Regulations. I'm inquiring to find out if this is accurate and what our options are.

A:  If the Company has less than 20 employees, they do not have to offer the Federal Law Cobra Continuation; you could contact your State Department of Insurance to see if they offer State Continuation or Mini-Cobra.
