Q:The cobra subsidy ends November 30th yet there are two bills submitted for an extension. Most representatives say they support an extension. My cobra administrator has sent me a form to have me make a decision and they want to know by November 24th if I elect to stay and pay in full. If I opt out and the bill is passed, will I still be eligible for the subsidy? Also when would payment be due and how long do I get to answer? My admin has pushed everyone to pay by the 20th of the previous covered month.
A:To my understanding nothing has been changed as far as extending the Cobra reduction, you can go to www.dol.gov/COBRA to see if you can find any other information or call the Department of Labor at 866-444-3272 they over see the Cobra law.But I have not heard of any extension in regards to extending the stimulus or the reduced rate for Cobra.
