Q:I have been unemployed since spring 09 and have been getting cobra at a reduced rate through my old employer but my understanding is that it will be over at the beginning of the year. Am I eligible for an extension?
A:You can receive the 9 months of reduction, no matter if that takes you past the end of the year.To my understanding there has been no extension of the reduced rate, you can always go to www.dol.gov/COBRA they are who oversees the Cobra law you may find more information on that website.
