Q:  My husband has switched jobs and we are currently paying COBRA benefits. He is eligible for insurance under his new company . I am 7 months pregnant and are wondering what my rights with COBRA as far as if I can keep my COBRA insurance to keep my current doctor till the birth of the baby or if I need to jump on the new insurance since it is offered.

A:  You can continue with COBRA as long as you are not enrolled in your husband's new employer's group health policy.  A person can't have COBRA and another insurance at the same time.  Please note that you will not be able to be added to your husband's new insurance until the employer's open enrollment.
