Q:  My wife and I are currently covered by COBRA from my previous US employer.  I am considering a contract job in Saudi where I will have medical coverage on only I only while in Saudi.  Can I continue my COBRA coverage for my wife and myself at the same time here?

A:  You may be able to continue your COBRA benefits, but you would need to speak to your COBRA administrator the person who you make your monthly COBRA payments too, the person who’s handling your benefits.  If not for the two of you, its possible you could continue your benefits for just your wife, but you would need to make sure they are going to cover her as well if she is going to be traveling to Saudi with you.  If you are not sure who your administrator is, ask your past employers HR department, they should have the information of your contact person.
