Q:  My employment was terminated Dec. 1, 2009. I was not offered Cobra through my old employer. Am I not eligible because I was terminated?

A:  It depends why they told you, that you were eligible.  If the Company has more than 20 employees and there is still a group health plan in force you should be able to enroll or continue on Cobra.  If you were terminated due to gross misconduct Cobra isn’t an option, you would need to speak to your past employer and ask them why you are not covered or not eligible to continue your benefits.  You can also find more Cobra information on www.dol.gov/COBRA
