Q:  I have left my former employer after seven years of insurance coverage.  I was told about cobra and I see that you offer a 12 month temporary service, after reviewing your proposed plans I found a "max duration" line, can you please explain what this means? Thank you!

A:  The plans you are viewing online are a temporary alternative plan to COBRA, it’s not a continuation of the same coverage.  It has a max duration, because it’s meant for temporary coverage for example while you are between jobs.  If you want to enroll into COBRA which you can be on up to 18 months, you need to get that information from your employer whom you have left.  COBRA will be a continuation of the same coverage you had while you were working.
