Q:  I terminated my employment and have rehired with another company. I have about 25 days before my new coverage takes place. My past employer has not yet sent me any Cobra info even after me contacting them.  Is Cobra good for this period of remaining 25 days?

A:  Your previous employer  has up to 45 days to send you an election form in the mail. When your previous employer receives the completed election form from you, the insurance is retro-active to your last day of work or the last day of your group benefits. You will not have a lapse in coverage.  Any claims that you occur during this time will be covered.
