Q:  My old employer sent me information on COBRA when I left. My new employer's medical coverage began on my hire-in date. However, dental did not and some of my family's dental was not covered in the interim. I do not know who to contact in order to get COBRA via my old employer. My hire-in date at my new employer was 3/27/07 and my last day was 3/26/07.

A:  From the day that your COBRA letters were mailed to you, you  only had 60 days to elect the continuation coverage. That coverage would have included your dental. You may have to look at your COBRA papers to find out the deadline to send in your election letter. Once you have past that deadline, you will have lost all COBRA rights of continuation. Your past employer should also have access to your COBRA information.
