Q: Can I continue Cobra as my primary carrier even though I've also been added to my husband's insurance? I'm pregnant and I know that my Cobra is only going to pay so much of my maternity care, but my Husband's insurance will become effective before the baby is due and Maternity care is therefore covered at 100%.

A:  You are not allowed COBRA continuation and other insurance at the same time.  If your husbands policy is better than you should drop COBRA.    There will be no pre-existing clause on your husband’s policy.  You should make sure that your doctor and hospital are providers for your husband’s insurance.
