Q: I got married last month and my wife, who is 6 months pregnant, was recently covered on her mom's insurance. We were notified yesterday that she had been dropped from her mother's plan and we have never received any COBRA papers. Is there any way you can contact me to see if she is still eligible for COBRA or what is going on.

A:  It is not a qualifying event when a covered dependent gets married.  They are no longer a dependent of the covered employee and are no longer eligible for COBRA continuation.
