I will be coming off of my mothers health care plan in September and am currently qualified for COBRA 36 month coverage. If I was to get married before the termination date would I still be eligible for COBRA coverage or would I need to wait tell after in listed in COBRA coverage to get married? If enrolled in COBRA coverage would my spouse be able to be covered as well? If so what type of clause (if any) would there be for a pre-existing condition (for the both of us)?

A:  It is not a qualifying event when a covered dependent gets married.  They are no longer a dependent of the covered employee and are no longer eligible for COBRA continuation.  Once you become married your COBRA continuation will end.  Your spouse would not be considered a dependent of an employee, so he would not be eligible for COBRA under your parent's health plan.
