Q: I am currently receiving cobra benefits (4 months) and am considering accepting another position. If that position does not work out am I eligible to go back to cobra benefits? If so would it be with my new employer and for how long would benefits apply?

A:  If you enrolled in your new employer’s group health plan, you would no longer be eligible for COBRA continuation from your previous employer.   However, if your new employer has more than 20 employees and you are on their health plan then you can continue COBRA through their group policy for up to 18 months.
