Q: I was the one employed with the insurance and left my job. we need to sign up for COBRA to have in force until my new insurance kicks in at my new job. Can my spouse only continue COBRA coverage or do I have to as well, since it was with my employer?

A:   On the election form (that you will get from your employer) you will be able to elect who you want to continue the COBRA coverage.  The employee does not have to accept COBRA coverage for themselves to get their spouse or dependent children covered under COBRA continuation.
