Q:  Recently, I accepted COBRA coverage.  Now, I need to decline COBRA coverage.

A:  You can cancel your COBRA coverage when you obtain other insurance.  You will need to notify your previous employer or the plan administrator in writing that you wish to cancel.  After your insurance has been canceled or terminated the employer should send you a letter notifying you of your cancellation or termination of your COBRA. You should then receive a certificate of credible coverage for the time you were using COBRA. Generally, your monthly payments are going to cover you for the full 30 days. Most COBRA payments are not prorated. All payment decisions are based on how and when the employer pays the insurance company. You have the right to cancel your COBRA coverage at any time.
