Q:  I am trying to find out what I can do about cobra insurance. The enrollment forms and payment have been lost in the mail and coverage has been canceled. I am on medications that will cause me to die if stopped suddenly. I found out the coverage was canceled when trying to fill prescriptions.

A:  If it is with in the 60 days from receiving the initial paperwork, you are still in the election period and would still be eligible for COBRA continuation.  You will need to contact your previous employer and request duplicate paperwork and you will have to send another check.   You may need to pay for your prescriptions out of pocket and the insurance company will reimburse you when the paperwork has been processed.
