My group benefits were reactivated , how do I get a refund from COBRA?

Q:  I returned to work on August 27th after a 24 week sabbatical. My company benefits started effective Sept 1st. I paid Cobra for the month of September. How do I get my payment back since I was activated back effective Sept 1st? Is there a form I need to fill out?

 

A:  You will need to talk to your employer’s HR Department or Benefits Manager.  They will contact the insurance company and request the refund for you.
