Q:  I cannot find my paperwork, I had my son covered through COBRA since July 2006 and paid 90+ dollars. I have no idea whether he is still covered. He was covered under my husband’s group health insurance until he stopped working there.

A:  You can find out if COBRA is active by calling the insurance company.  There should be a phone number on the back of the ID card and they will tell you if he still has coverage.  Your husband’s previous employer or their plan administrator can also give you this information and the date the COBRA coverage will end.
