Q:  If an employee has just been reduced in hours, how long until they are eligible for COBRA?  Do they have COBRA based on our current health plan or the one that we will be switching to in a month?

A:  The employee will become eligible for COBRA when their group benefits ended because of the reduced hours.  The COBRA coverage will start on the same day the other benefits ended.  If your employer changes their group health insurance plan, then your COBRA coverage will be switched to the new plan.
