Q:   I left my previous job on November 2nd 2007 and I still have not recieved information concerning my cobra selection. What do I need to do to make this happen and who do I need to contact. Is there anything I can do legally?

A:  If your previous employer has more than 20 employees and you were on their group health insurance before you left, you are eligible for COBRA continuation.  Your employer is legally responsible for sending you the COBRA packet within 45 days from your last day of group benefits.  If your employer doesn't give you the election form, you should contact the US Department of Labor at 1-866-487-2365.  The employer can be fined daily for not complying with COBRA laws.
