Q:  I was never issued or sent COBRA insurance, and told they did not have to offer this, is that true for a fortune 50 company?

A:  COBRA is not an insurance company, it is a federal law. An employer that has more than 20 employees must offer you COBRA as long as you were enrolled on their group health plan prior to the qualifying event.  If you were never received the COBRA election form from your previous employer or their COBRA plan administrator, you should contact the US Department of Labor at 1-866-487-2365.
