Q:  First, when a plan for family coverages states a decuctible, is that per person covered or for the family? Second, are premiums and co-insurance payments (well, at least premiums) tax deductible?

A:  Employer's health plans are all different.  You will need to find out from your previous employer's benefits manager or your insurance company if your benefits have a deductible per person or per family.

Also, the IRS will have the answers to your tax deductible question. You can visit their site at
www.irs.gov.   Publication 502 has information about medical and dental expenses, including the health coverage tax credit.
