Q:  I retired in December 07 & I am now on Medicare. My wife is age 61. Can she stay on my company health insurance & if so, for how long? How can I determine the cost of her insurance?

A:  Your wife will be able to stay on COBRA for up to 36 months because you retired & became entitled to Medicare at the same time. Your previous employer will be able to give you the rates for your wife’s COBRA along with the paperwork to sign her up COBRA continuation coverage.
