Q: I was terminated Oct 5th 2007, I have requested several times info on COBRA and to no avail my previous company has yet to send me any indo so I can get this started. Do I have any legal rights? And if so whom do I contact?
A:If your previous employer has more than 20 employees and you were on the group health insurance before you left, you are eligible for COBRA continuation.Your employer is legally responsible for mailing you the COBRA packet within 45 days from the last day of your group benefits. The US Department of Labor regulates the COBRA laws. You can contact them at 1-866-487-2365.
