Q:   I currently have insurance through my husband’s employer.  My husband is switching jobs and we will no longer have insurance.  The employer says they don’t offer COBRA.  Is this true?

A:  If an employer has more than 20 employees and not part of a church organization they MUST offer continuation of their group health plan to an employee when a qualifying event occurs.  If your employer is not offering you COBRA you should contact the US Department of Labor at 1-866-487-2365.
