Q: I was laid off from work a month ago and I was told I would get some paper work from cobra before we can enroll.  What do we need to do?

A:   With in 45 days from your last day of work or group benefits, which ever is later, the employer is required to mail you the COBRA packet which will include the COBRA election form.  Your previous employer may have hired 3rd party administrator for processing the COBRA paperwork.  The election form you receive from your previous employer or their plan administrator will explain your COBRA rights and tell you where to mail the form and your payments.
