Q:All of the policies state that certain surgeries are not covered. What types of surgeries are these? Experimental procedures or standard surgeries?
A: If you sign up for COBRA coverage through your previous employer, it is a continuation of the same benefits, same coverages you had before the qualifying event. Your previous employer's benefits manager will be able to tell you what is covered; the employer must provide you with a Summary of Plan Descriptions. Also, your health insurance company has a phone number on their ID card that you can call specifically for benefits information.
