Q:Cobra said they mailed my applilcation and I .never received it because of an incomplete address, so they SAID they would resend and I must send letter in writing which I did so by registered mail..still now Cobra and my benefits ended a few weeks ago.What next?
A: Your employer or COBRA plan administrator has up to 45 days ( from your last day of group benefits) to mail you the COBRA packet. Once you you elect COBRA and make your first payment, your insurance is retro-active, it goes back to your last day of group benefits. So you will not have a lapse in coverage.
