Q:  My husband is currently under going Chemo treatment for Stage 4 Colon Cancer. His employer is changing insurance companies from Federated to BCBS of South Carolina. I'm worried about the new insurance company not covering his chemo treatments because of pre-existing. What can we do or do you have any helpful information?

A:  Your husband's employer HR department or benefits manager can give you more detailed information about the new plan.  Since your husband has had continuous creditable coverage without a lapse  the new group plan can not put a limitation or decline any pre-existing conditions.
