COBRA Insurance In The State Of Massachusetts

The Massachusetts Mini-COBRA law applies to employers with 2 or more employees. To be eligible for Mini-COBRA, employees must have lost their group health insurance coverage due to a reduction in hours or termination of employment, and the employer must offer COBRA coverage to its employees. The employee must also timely elect Mini-COBRA coverage and pay the required premium.

The 1996 Massachusetts Mini-COBRA Law allows all employees to continue their group health insurance coverage for a limited time if they lose it due to a reduction in hours or termination of employment.

The length of the coverage is 9 months and the average cost per month is approximately 102% of the regular premium paid by the employee.

Health Insurance For Pre-Existing Conditions In Massachusets
