Swithching from full time to full commissions employee

US DOL Info#ff00ff Q : My job recently offered me the option of switching from being a regular full-time employee to a per-diem or fee for service employee. If I choose to do so, I will no longer be eligible to receive health insurance through the company unless I pay for it in full. I am wondering whether I would be eligible for health insurance under COBRA, and if so, how much would that cost? I would only need coverage until next December (2007), when I am getting married and will be able to be put on my husband’s health insurance. A: One of the qualifying factors for COBRA is a reduction in hours. When the covered employee is no longer considered “full-time” they can continue the group health insurance policy. However they would be required to pay 102% of the entire monthly cost.

If you are a healthy person who does not live in NY, NJ, MA, or VT and would be interested in a lower cost Alternative to COBRA please https://quote.sasid.com/demographics.aspx?refnumber=000000051-026-900&roi=QA
