What Happens If I Move To Another State After I Quit My Job? Can I Still Elect COBRA?

What happens if I change residency to another state after I quit my job?

Yes, you can still elect Consolidated Omnibus Budget Reconciliation Act of 1985 (COBRA) coverage after you move to another state. If your former health‐plan’s service area does not cover your new location, your former employer must offer you a plan that works in your new state.
